Brazilians only think about soccer. Even brazilian women think about it, lets say, for different reasons (lol). But a soccer game against Argentina is something quite special. I watched the game yesterday. We swept them!
Fato é que os argentinos até gostam dos brasileiros. Somos nós que os detestamos. Por vários motivos que eu, no começo, achava errados. Tipo assim: por que não gostar dos argentinos? Não podemos ter preconceito e tal. Em 2002 eu até beijei um argentino. Um louco, diga-se de passagem. Eu já devia ter desconfiado. Mas bastou eu pisar em território argentino pra entender. O povo lá realmente tem algum problema.
The fact is that the Argentinians even like the Brazilians. We are the ones who hate them. For various reasons that I at first thought wrong. Like this: why not to like the Argentinians? A gente ri das manias dos americanos, faz piada com a burrice dos portugueses (que de burros não têm nada - é só um outro olhar sobre o mundo, mais devagar, digamos assim), tem nojo da porcaria dos franceses mas... aguentar os argentinos já é demais!!!
We laugh about the americans' habits (cultural differences), make jokes on portugueses' stupidity (they are not stupid - it is just a slower way of watching the world pass by), get disgusted by the french's filth but... To stand the argentinians is too much!!!
Da primeira vez que eu fui pra Argentina, eu jurei que nunca mais pisava lá. Paguei a língua. Tive que ir de novo. Mas já fui de mau-humor. Apesar de falar espanhol, eu faço questão de conversar em português. Eles que se virem. Na melhor das hipóteses eu falo inglês pra ajudar. Eu só não entendo como é que a gente entende espanhol e eles não entendem português. É quase a mesma coisa!
The first time I went to Argentina, I swore never to set foot there again. Turns out that I had to go there again. But I went in a bad mood. Although I speak Spanish, I only spoke Portuguese. At best, I spoke English to help. I just do not get how we understand Spanish and they dont understand Portuguese. It is almost the same thing!
Olha só: estava eu em uma loja de departamento argentina experimentando uma calça. A vendedora pediu pra ver e eu mostrei a ela que estava larga na cintura. Ela comentou: "que bunda grande as brasileiras têm. Eu queria ter a bunda assim!" E ainda chamou as outras vendedoras pra verem. Todas impressionadas com a nossa abundância, rs.
Check this out: I was in a department store in Argentina trying on pants. The saleslady asked me to see and I showed her that it was loose at the waist. She commented "what a big ass Brazilian women have. I wanna have an ass like this!" And then, she called the other salesladies to see it. They were all impressed by the size and shape of my brazilian butt.
