California + Bailinho

Decisão tomada!
Decision made!

Lets say that the very wise decision was made in a nightclub. There are many reasons why I made this decision, but a friend from college (Language School) was the one who encouraged me to forget about England and go to The U.S.

My friend remembered me something very important: during the 4 years of college, I skipped like a thousand classes to study for Law school. I used to skip literature classes, once Portuguese and English classes were very hard, but used to attend all English classes, except for the ones on Wednesday, because The O.C (the series) was on TV.

The O.C passava bem no horário da aula de Fonética e eu sempre matava a aula pra ir pro D.A ver o gatíssimo do Ryan. Ow! Meu sonho era beijar esse Ryan. O Ryan mesmo, o personagem, rs. Eu não estava nem aí pro ator. O bonitinho era o personagem. Pobre menino rico. E aquela chata daquela Marissa dando o maior trabalho.
The O.C was on TV when I was supposed to attend my Phonetics class, but I always skipped Phonetics to watch that cute character named Ryan. I wish I could kiss that guy: I mean the character, not the actor, because I couldnt care less about the actor (lol). The character was the sexy one. Poor rich boy! And that crazy Marissa girl always bugging him.

By that time, my sister was living in California and I, aka Ms. Silly, didnt go there to visit her. My mother almost forced me to go to cali, but I said no! Turns out God works mysterious ways and suddenly I was told to take a course in California. No arguing! Just do it! Bosses are very bossing, arent they?

Agora: imagina eu lá no tal bailinho.
The decision was made inside a nightclub during a party (Bailinho): a mix of nightclub + hip-hop + funk = razzle dazzle! Now picture this: I was dancing and trying to choose a country.

Um mocinho conhecido veio conversar e saiu o seguinte diálogo:
- Sapatão vc não é. Metida também não. O que que te aconteceu nessa vida?
- Nada uai... Só tô cansada....
- Vc não leva nenhum homem a sério né?
- Que isso... levo sim. Mas estou desinteressada. Leia o blog, rs.
- Leia o blog!

A guy approached me and started talking:
-I know you are not a lesbian. And you are surely not stuck-up. What happened to you? What happened in your life?
-Nothing.... I'm just tired. That's all!
- You dont take men serious, do you? You take men for granted....
- Yes I do take men serious! But I'm uninterested. Read my blog (lol).
-How come you dont wanna kiss me. I'm such a nice person!
-Read my blog!

Come on! Do I have to explain? It's better that he reads it and gets to whatever conclusion he thinks is right (lol). When I want something, I ask for it! The only time in my life that I really asked for a kiss was Mr. Pilot (the one from Barcelona. Not the one from the party last week). And what a kiss! No regrets!

O problema é ela demorar 2 dias pra perceber. Tipo assim:
-Me dá sua mão.
- Não posso...
- Por que?
-Não tenho mão.
(Seria cômico se não fosse trágico)
The end is always the best part: My student told us the following story. She kissed a guy in Europe e found out, two days later, that the guy didnt have a hand. The problem is not that he didnt have a hand. The problem is that it took her 2 days to notice it! Picture the dialogue:
- Give me your hand.
-I cant...
- Why not????
- 'cause I dont have one

I would laugh, but it's too sad.

No fim das contas: California. Só falta escolher a cidade. Deus me abençoe!
Bottom line: California it is. I just have to figure out what city. Cul-de-sac!

Whisky or Whiskey?

This blog needed a new layout. Something girly. By the way, I need to look like a girl, a young lady maybe. Young ladies dont complain, dont drink and dont put a spell on boys.

A balada foi boa. Noite das mocinhas. E a mocinha desinteressada aqui sempre atrai.
Awesome nightlife. Girls night out. And the uninterested young lady here always working as a magnet. I dont know what it is. At present, my major concern is about the cities. Not here. In the U.S. Or in the U.K. Who knows? Too much for me! San Francisco or San Diego? Ccambridge or Leeds? Not even the country I know for sure. Give me a whisky or whiskey, whatever! One is american and the other one is british. I just dont know for sure which one is each (lol). On the rocks, please. Maybe I'll think faster!

Red Bull, please!!!!!!!!!!
I had just asked for whisky/whiskey and the torture began. I started wondering about my college days when the professor turned to me and said: 'You've gotta choose, darling! Either you write in british english or american english!' To tell you the truth, I still dont have a clue about it! (lol) Red Bull, please!!!!!!!!

Esse negócio de whisky/whiskey me levou pra longe e resume bem a minha indecisão: color ou colour; favorite or favourite; subway ou underground; line ou queue; bathroom ou toilet; United States ou United Kingdom???? Agua de coco, please. E mais whisky, claro.
This whole whisky/whiskey thing made me wonder: color or colour; favorite or favourite; subway or underground; line or queue; bathroom or toilet; United States ou United Kingdom???Coconut milk, please. And more whiskey, of course.

She is an English teacher!!!". Seja lá onde isso for. Meu copo está vazio.
So, there I was, uninterested, thinking about the cities and words when I heard the line I hate the most: 'She is an English teacher'. Guess what? there is always an australian, american, british close. This time it was an american. I asked about the name of his city like a hundred times. I think it's Marion/ Maryland/ Mary something, whatever! My glass is empty.

Tá bom: vamos dar uns conselhos pro mocinho. Jack Daniel's ou...Me digam. Pra onde eu vou?
Ok. Lets give the guy some clues. Brazilian women are not easy. Follow the rules: everybody kisses everybody, but brazilian women usually dont like american guys. Why? I dont know. I guess it is because of the language. It is hard to speak english. Hard for them. I do it all the time. Maybe that's why I have so many american friends. Go figure! Moving on: No ass grabbing in public, right? This is my friend. She is single. Whiskey or Whisky? Jack Daniel's or... You tell me! Where should I go?

Aviões e TPM - Planes and P.M.S

Algo estranho acontece.
Weird things happen to me every time I fly. It's like a carma. Every time I am quiet, thoughtful, almost praying... Boom! Something weird happens.

As estranhezas mais "unbelievable" já ocorridas são:
The most weird/unbelievable things ever happened are:

E young lady quer dizer mocinha, rsrs.
Weird Thing 1) On a domestic flight, right after an international one, I had to cope with this problem: my handbaggage wouldnt fit the overhead compartment and I wanted to dispatch it. The lady from the airline company said that I would have to pay a tax, once I had gone over the baggage dispatch limit, but if I took it with me, I wouldnt be charged. Can you see how stupid it was? Well: I entered the plane and, of course, the handbaggage didnt fit the overhead compartment (I wonder how to say it in portuguese). Then, I said out loud and in english: "Fuckin shit!" hoping that no one would understand, considering it was a domestic flight and I am very polite (lol). But I got lucky! Guess the nationality of the 2 boys sat next to me? American and Irish. How nice! They looked at me and said: "Dont curse, young lady". Young lady means "mocinha" in portuguese and that is how I refer to myself.

Leaving the plane after a Belo Horizonte - Sao Paulo flight, I, who was sat in seat 1A close to the toilet and to the door, decided to go to the restroom to wash my hands before departuring. When I left the restroom, I saw all that people going out the plane and I decided to wait for everybody to leave. And then the pilot came out of nowhere and started making small talk. And I gave him some advice on how to land properly, once he had made me spilt coke on my hands during land (lol). I love to teach people even when I dont have a clue about what Im talking about. But the conversation ended with the guy asking me for my cellphone number. And my cellphone was right there on my hands, so that I couldnt pretend I didnt have one. Every time he flies to Belo he calls me. But I never went out with him. You know what they say: One lady in each airport and a mistress inside the plane.

Weird Thing 3) I like to sit in the first row. It is easier and faster to get off the plane. And this is very important for a person who doesn't like planes. Well, as soon as it landed, I stood up, got my handbag and, to avoid the crowd, I steped towards the door. Then, the very intelligent, smart and sensitive flight attendant looked at me and said: "Ma'am, you have to wait for the door to open so that you can leave the plane". And I answered respectfully: "Really? I didn't know! I thought I could go through it. I'm glad you let me know!".

And I havent mentioned the fact that, if I fly 5 times in a month, I'm gonna get my period 5 times in the same month, which means 5 delightful PMS occurences. It must be some sort of disease (lol). No wonder I hate planes!

Pegadora Desinteressada - Uninterested She Wolf

After all that has happened to me, I knew I would reborn. But the best comment came from my best friend: 'Lulu, the uninterested she wolf. A paradoxe?' Poor me!

Many things changed concerning my way of looking at the past and, from now on, Luisa Uninterested is back. The exact same girl who started this blog. A thousand men after her and she was there, uninterested. Better: Not interest at all. No kind heart. The usual witch. Almost a She Wolf. Well, as Shakira said: there is a She wolf in the closet, let it out so it can breath.

E quantas baladas! Que vuelva la loba! Licantropia, pero de una forma sensual! (espanhol)
By the way, the remark was made by a male friend: "Lulu, you were once a she wolf in the closet". Yes. That would be me. How many have I dumped with such grace that they became my friends? And how many parties!

And my friend also sent me the excerpt from the lyrics that, according to him, suits perfectly the previous version of myself, specially the getting in trouble part (lol). There it goes. In English and Spanish.

To locate the single men I got on me a special radar
And the fire department hotline in case I get in trouble later
Not looking for cute little divos or rich city guys that just want to enjoy
Im having a very good time in the heat, very bad in the arms of a boy

Latino-Americanos sempre vêm pro Brasil antes the ir pros EUA...
Ps: Remember when Shakira left Colombia and came to Brazil before becoming a big hit in the U.S? She speaks portuguese. Latin Americans: they always came to Brazil first.

Eu, a amante - I, the mistress

I have a friend who is British and lives in England. What? He could be British and live in Brazil, but he doesnt. Funny thing: I met him at Copacabana beach, out of the sudden, when I cut my foot - he is a doctor. I think I look like an english speaker, although I barely understand british english. Who cares? I also dont understand portuguese from Portugal. Go figure!

Me ligou do Skype dele pra reclamar que eu ligo demais pra ele. Imagina a mocinha me chamando no Skype com aquele inglês fechadíssimo e brava!
Well, Mr. Doctor's girlfriend, who is also British, doesnt like me. And I not even know her. She called me to complain that I've been calling her boyfriend a lot. I blame the time zone and the fact that the guy is a doctor and is always on call, so I never know when to call him. Now, picture this: the girl calling me on Skype, speaking British english. I almost laugh. He is is JUST my friend and is coming to Brazil next month. What can I do?

After she made her complaint, I asked: "Is it true that in british english the word mistress also means teacher?" And she answered: "Yes. Why?" I said: "No, nothing. It's just that Mr. Doctor said I would be his mistress in Brazil". I love to play dumb in other languages. The "joke" only makes sense in british english. I wonder if she knows I am a real school teacher (lol).

The noun MISTRESS has 3 senses:

1. a woman who has an ongoing extramarital sexual relationship with a man
2. British English: a woman schoolteacher. If it is a man, shall be called Master.
3. a woman master who directs the work of others

Familiarity information: MISTRESS used as a noun is uncommon

California Dreamin' or Californication?

Today I got to the conclusion that everything in life can be represented by these two songs (lol). Either one or the other. It is only a theory to be improved. Until now, the following is all I've got. But I'm pretty sure that it's a good theory.

Mas a pergunta me levou a repensar a vida.
The ideia was not purely mine. A very good friend came to visit me last night and, as he is very interfering, he turned on my computer and saw Mr. Pilot's picture on my desktop. Immediately, he asked me in english: "What about this guy? Is it California Dreamin or Californication?." I stuttered. I wouldnt know how to answer. He is my friend but not just a friend, I said. Go figure! But the question led me to a serious "rethinking about my life" moment.

Of course, California Dreamin' is a metaphor for a beautiful dream and Californication is like something crazy or even a lie. But isnt everything in this life either a beautiful dream or a lie? Except for the real things like having to work tomorrow morning (lol).

If we think about it, arent all the relationships either California Dreamings or Californications? What balances everything is the respect and love we show for the ones by our side. So, if it is one or the other I dont know, but I surely know what I want it to be. And it goes for every little thing in my life. What about you? Bottom line: our mind is where our heart is.

Aquário - Aquarius

Signos.
Zodiac Signs. That's funny! I'm not sure if I believe it, but I'm certainly not brave enough to say that the theory doesn't work.

I, for example, am a genuine Leo. And people from Leo are like this: generous, independent, positive, blessed with a special natural bright and impulsive. The opposite of Aquarius, once they analyze everything around, outside and inside every aspect of their lives. And don't make any decisions! It is not easy to date a man from Aquarius. I should know better!

Entretanto.... As diferenças são deliciosas!
To make things worse, I'm a Leo stalked by Aquarius. 4 ex-boyfrieds and, nowadays, what I believe to be a crush on a guy from Aquarius. But one thing is true: Leo and Aquarius don't match. However..... The differences are delightful!

Check out the men from Aquarius:
The Aquarian man is kind hearted and an intellectual. These are the exact qualities that reflect on his face as well. He attracts peers with his eyes that are full of love and intelligence and humor.

It is tough to describe an Aquarian man as he carries in his persona an air of contradiction and paradoxes. He is a person with original and creative thinking, curious by nature and loves to experience things. He is someone who doesn’t believe in compulsion. He is someone who would fight for a cause as long as he can see the point in it.

The Aquarian man is usually progressive and embraces a new idea or concept with such zeal that he even copes with unforeseen changes. Constantly coming up with new ideas, he never fails to amaze those around him with his steadfastness and rigid attitude to certain subjects.

The Aquarian man holds friendship in high esteem and is ever ready to help out a friend who is in need, even if it means that he has to make certain sacrifices. Although he seems to be lost in a world of ideas, this cerebral male reacts with sensitivity to feelings and affection.

Falta-lhe habilidade.
Probably the most disappointing quality of the male Aquarian lover is that he would never ever accept or declare his emotions. If you expect this man to bring you flowers, you’d better forget it because it aint going to happen. This doesn’t mean that he does not care for you. On the contrary he has a deep sense of love and feeling, only that he is not able to verbally acknowledge it. He just doesn’t have the skill of the sentimental subtlety.

The Aquarian man is also known to have a commitment problem. Rather than settling down with a partner for life, he is better off having a number of casual affairs. This is because he believes that he needs to be free at all times and relationships plain stifle his independence. The best solution for the Aquarius man is a marriage born of friendship and complicity, to a nice, intelligent woman who is as independent as he is.

Todo mundo pelado, ninguém é de ninguém! - Everybody naked, lose yourselves!

Everybody naked, lose yourselves! This sentence was said by my sister's boyfriend (younger than I am) and it has open my eyes. He said it to me after I got back from Spain and had to deal with the reality of living in a city full of weird men. Where is the love? Come on!

Everybody naked = people only think about sex (mainly men)
Lose yourselves = everybody kisses everybody and we go back to everybody naked

Lets think about this very common sitution that, fortunately, hasn't happened to me (yet). Nightlife + kissing = fatidical question: "Your house or my house?
I would answer: honey, how about getting to know each other a little more and, then, we can discuss this whole house thing.

However, the problem was already detected by nobody but Sir Paul McCartney: "in the end, the love you take is equal to the love.... you make!" God bless us all!

A Mulher Perfeita - How to be the perfect Ms.Right

As you know, I'm an English teacher and I spend the entire day speaking English. For the past 2 years, even my dreams have been in English. I guess I've been working too much.

Well, the book that I use for teaching is great and brings a chapter that I find very, lets say, interesting. Tipically American. How to be the perfect Ms. Right.

Vejamos o que diz o livro. Meus comentários pessoais estão entre( ).
Lets see what the book says. My personnal comments are between ( ).

Summary - Resumo

Excerpt - Trecho

According to the author, you must never ask a man out.

1. On a first date, you have to be quiet and mysterious. (As men say I'm a witch, I think I'm already mysterious enough)

2. You must always wear makeup, even when you go jogging. (and then you melt)
2. A mocinha deve usar maquiagem até quando for correr. (e aí vc derrete)

3. You cannot cut your hair - men prefer it long. (some salons sell hair. no problem)
(dá pra colocar mega hair no salão)

4. You cannot let him meet your family right away; wait until you are sure your relationship is serious. (No kidding!!)

5. You must always hesitate when he asks for a date - check your appointment book and suggest another day. (Bottom line: schedule it for Friday or Saturday. Mondays and Tuesdays are booty call days)

6. You cannot let him know your specific plans every time you are not with him; let him wonder what you're doing! It makes you seem more interesting. (Not knowing where we are drives men crazy)

7. You cannot be too honest about your feelings - the man will get frightened. (only the men who are weak!)

8. You must not call him or e-mail him first. (Oooooooo! Not possible! I wonder what Mr. pilot is thinking)

9. You have to act confident, even if you are not. (My last name is confidence)
(Eu sou a senhora confiança)

10. YOU CANNOT, MUST NOT BREAK THESE RULES. (holy shit!)
10. NÃO QUEBRE ESSAS REGRAS DE JEITO NENHUM! (virgem santa!)

I keep thinking: What are the rules for a man that wants to find Ms. Right? There is only one: Don't be a jerk! Good Luck! (LOL)
Eu fico pensando: quais são as regras pro mocinho que quer encontrar a mulher perfeita? Só tem uma: não seja babaca! Boa sorte! rs

De Desinteressada a Desesperada? Acho que não - From Uninterested to Desperate? I don't think so

From uninterested to desperate? I don't think so... (LOL). But I'm gonna write this post just in case. It is an answer to the comment written by Mr. Eric Bustamante about the previous post.

Here is the deal: talking to one of my students these days, we found out that we haven't got time to get ourselves a boyfriend. We not even have time to think about having a boyfriend! We can barely go out, considering how much we work.

Turns out that she is more persistent than I and hasn't given up yet. I, on the other hand, have been uninterested since March and I keep on uninterested. However, it doesn't hurt to ask for a miracle, does it?

We even thought about registering in one of those relationship websites (LOL), once we are already tired of going out and listening to the same * everyday. When we have time to go out, we want to meet our friends and talk. And that 's it!

Eu sou a senhora independência, sabe?
I'm Ms. Independent, you know? So, desperate? I don't think so. But I can't say that I'm not worried about the current male panorama. (LOL)

Happy Birthday to me!!!

It is about time to comment on my birthday, isn't it? Mainly considering that the party/celebration took place more than a month ago. Let me explain: my real birthday, as I said, was on July, 25, but I was too busy/drunk in Spain. So, the party was anticipated. It was a typical JUNE PARTY on July, 4 - U.S Independence Day (see? I attended this History class).

Moment of truth: all kinds of alcoholic drinks... I not even know what I drank. And my mother there, concerned about the food! I wonder if people go to a party to eat! Mom... Come on!

From now on, I'm gonna be 25 (at least until I'm 30) and I wonder if someone will doubt it.

To make use of the theme, which was June although the month was not June, I decided to ask St. Anthony (holy matchmaker) a husband. And I tried to make clear while blowing the candles: I want to get married - not divorced, nor lover/mistress. I just forgot to say when (LOL). Good, because you can tell from the title of this blog that I am not thinking of getting married soon ... (LOL)

But wow! The whole candle melted! I bet it was some sort of voodoo from someone present. I wonder who it was! (LOL)

It isn’t hard to fight for what we want, but to give up what we love the most. I had to give up. But don’t think that I gave up because of not having the willpower required. I gave up because I couldn’t suffer anymore.

That was the passage I read to my 15 year old student the other day, when she was desperately crying because her boyfriend had broken up with her. God bless the 15 year old hearts. They are so pure! But there is always a boy that comes and breaks them!

Boys… Go figure! I should know better. My heart has been broken once, twice, three times! But that’s what they say: third time is a charm! Or we better stop being silly. What goes around comes around and, if it doesn't come around, we put a spell on it! (LOL)

Entendido! Roger That!

I was quietly sleeping before going out tonight (after all, tonight is Friday night), when my cellphone whistled. It was a text message from my friend from Spain (R.J. aka Mr. Knows It All). Good to know that you are here in Brazil again (at least for a while).

Bjo."

The text message was something like this: "Your explanation about the expression Roger That was cool, although not a 100% accurate, once R in the aviation alphabet is Romeo. Kisses."

Good, because he woke me up and now I'm here changing clothes and trying to write this explanatory post. Lets see: "Roger" was "phonetic" for "R" (received and understood). In radio communication, a "spelling alphabet" (often mistakenly called a "phonetic alphabet) is used to avoid confusion between similarly sounding letters. In the previously used US spelling alphabet, R was Roger, which in radio voice procedure means "Received". While in the current spelling alphabet (NATO), R is now Romeo, Roger has remained the response meaning "received" in radio voice procedure. In the US military, it is common to reply to another's assertion with "Roger that", meaning: "I agree".

It seems to me that I've been hanging out a lot with people who like to fly (LOL). And I hate planes!

Voltando ao normal - Leaving the madness behind

The posts, from now on, will be written in Portuguese and English, okay?

Pois é, as férias acabaram e eu me vejo obrigada a voltar ao normal.

Well, end of vacations and I see myself obliged to become normal again. But I wonder if I have ever been normal in this life (LOL). To tell you the truth, the first semester of this year was very disruptive for me. And I blame men for it! But it is gone now. From now on, men are only welcome if they come with insurance, warranty and a doctor's note saying they are not crazy. Exception made for Mr. Pilot, because he has won me over. Isn't Luisa Campos Morgan a lovely name for a girl like me?

Taking a closer look at the situation, I went from "I love the love of my life" up to "what am I gonna do about the guy from California?" in 7 months. And all this considering my sister's boss, a new boyfriend and "I'm kissing my best friend" episodes. Enough is enough! Think about it: all the madness always begins because of a boy/guy/man, doesn't it? I repeat and quote: If you watched the movie He is just not that in to you you'll understand. Remember the first scene?
"A girl will never forget the first boy she ever likes.
Little girl: Why did you do that???
Little boy: Because you smell like dog poo (poop)!
Little girl's mother: Honey, you know why that little boy did those things? Because he likes you!
That's the begining of our problem! We were all programmed to believe that if a guy acts like a total jerk, that means he likes you! "

Veremos! Bjos!

Considering that the normal version of me was never up to trouble, I figured out that it was better to try to become normal rapidly, because, as my friend said, I was lookig crazy and desperate (LOL). So: Luisa normal version second semester 2009 - An attempt of becoming normal after Spain. We'll see! Kisses!

Barcelona

This post is gonna be in English. I just hope all my students can read it (if you can't, people, you better get yourselves another teacher - LOL = risos).

So, there I was on a Sunday afternoon, thinking about going to Paris when my friend/boss decided that I should go to Barcelona instead of Paris. Ok. Roger that*! He is the man so I did what he told me. And it was perfect! LOL

I bought the train ticket and, althought I woke up still a little drunk on Monday, I went to the train station and took a train to Barcelona. As my friend/boss kept calling me "lazy tourist", I decided to do something about it and immediately bought tickets for a city tour - a 5 hours city tour and I also watched Barcelona (Barça) play in a soccer stadium. Awesome!

During the city tour I kept thinking about other english words to ask my boss/friend. Remember the game? English vocabulary: turns out all the berries are very complicated (LOL). Strawberry is ok, right? But try to figure out raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, cranberry, huckleberry, etc. And let me know if you find out how to say "jabuticaba" in English. To teel u the truth I only know that blueberry is "mirtilo" and raspberry and blackberry get me confused even in portuguese. But when it comes to vegetables, I rock! LOL!!!

Ok. Lets go on: After the 5 hour city tour, I decide to do some shopping and went to the hotel to take a shower and change clothes. Shopping done, it was time for fun! Getting back to the hotel, I met 5 brazilians at the front desk (I could tell they were Brazilian from their passports). And guess what? From Belo Horizonte. How come I never saw them here? Small world, isn't it? So lets party boys!

While the 5 boys took a shower, I went out for cigarettes. As you know, I don´t smoke, except for parties and alcoholic environments (LOL) and Barcelona was, for sure, an alcoholic situation. So, when I was coming back to the hotel, I heard someone speaking English on the street (there was a pub/bar next to the hotel) and my teacher ears immediately predicted by the accent: brazilians.

2 Brazilian girls from Floripa and they became my best friends that night. It was an alcoholic tour for 6 bars and, in one of those bars we met 2 American guys. Thank God mom made me attend my English classes since I was little (LOL).

I don't know where they came from but I went to the restroom and, as far as I can remember, when I came back they were already talking to my friends. Probably the girls started the conversation because Americans are very shy compared to Brazilians. So lets talk!

I don't know how the conversation began because it was already the third bar and I was tired and drunk, but suddenly I heard: "I'm a pilot in California". I swear to God I thought: "Ok and I'm Santa Claus" but I kept my mouth shut and decided to give him the benefit of the doubt (LOL) and said: "Really? And what is it that you pilot/fly/drive?".

He might have thought I was stupid because pilots are most likely to fly planes, right? But as I was drunk, I asked anyway. And he answered (laughing, of course): submarines.

Ok. I'll think twice before asking a stupid question the next time (LOL). I made my piece with the information: the guy is a pilot and his friend from Chicago is studying Media (Comunicação) or whatever they call it in the U.S. He knows Rede Globo and told me that Globo runs everything here in Brazil (no kidding?!...)

Very strange thing in Barcelona. Vodka on the rocks or with Red Bull cost the same (good, isn't it?) which remind me the Cuba Libre I drank in Valencia that was the best: with orange juice and coffee grains.

Time to dance. Lets go to a nightclub. And as I previously told you in other posts, Luisa + alcohol = strange ideas. Suddenly, I decided that the boy from Chicago was the best thing on Earth for my friend. And I told her (LOL). But first I had to teach him some things about Brazil: You can't touch/grab/squeeze a girl's butt or breast in public. I thought it was better to be safe than sorry (LOL). You know: at this point, cultural differences make a great deal.

Going on: Together with the idea of my friend kissing the boy from Chicago, it suddenly occurred me the idea of kissing the guy from California and together with the idea came the problem: Americans don't kiss other people in public like Brazilians do and how am I gonna explain that I'm Brazilian and a little kiss doesn't hurt? (LOL) On the other hand, I must give Americans some credit, because they are very, very, very, polite. Polite in a sexy way, if you know what mean.

What would I say? Hey! I wanna kiss you? Now I understand better brazilian guys. I know: it is hard to be a man in Brazil... You have to approach a girl and... Too hard!

It took me 10 minutes to explain Mr.Pilot that a kiss wouldn't hurt and his eyes... Wow! Made my heart shake! Damn cultural differences. Why does it have to be so hard? Americans dance almost swallowing each other but can't kiss in public? (LOL) It's funny, you know, but totally comprehensible: lawsuits and other things that brazilians not even think about.

It was daylight already... in 3 hours I had to be on a train back to Valencia. But firts I made sure my friends from Brazil in Valencia knew that I was not a lazy tourist. So, I called them up and let them know I was awaken since the previous day. And Mr. Pilot? Wow! He is gorgeous! Next stop? California.

*R is the letter from morse code that brings the meaning of okay. This way, on radio transmissions we use R and when speaking on the radio it is Alfa, Beta, Charlie and the word for letter R is Roger. There comes the expression "Roger that" which means "entendido" in portuguese.
